Top 3 Tips for Celebrating St. Andrew’s Day

Lots of countries celebrate a special day. In America the 4th of July is a very important festival. In Canada they celebrate their nation’s birthday on July 1st. St. Patrick’s Day is one of the most popular celebrations on March 17th. Festivities can range from backyard barbecues, cookouts, to fireworks and dancing. You may not know this, but Scotland has a day of national celebration too.
November 30th is a special day for Scottish people. Although St. Andrew happens to be the patron saint of many other countries, St. Andrew’s Day is a national bank holiday in Scotland. Scottish residents and ex-patriots throughout the world celebrate this day with family dinners, drinking and all things Scottish. If you have ever wanted to celebrate St. Andrew’s Day, here are the three top tips to make your get together successful:
1. Eat and Prepare the Proper Food When celebrating St. Andrew’s Day – people often eat fish, as St. Andrew was a fisherman. It is a well known tradition to catch rabbits and hares, used later in a large feast, but since this is not always possible, traditional fine Scottish food is served. This may include singed Sheep’s head, Scottish herring in oatmeal, beef in whiskey sauce, scotch eggs, “finnan haddie, stovies” and haggis.
2. Have Traditional Scottish Music Available – Traditional Scottish feasting should also have the right kind of music accompanying it. In the case of St. Andrew’s Day it is wise to have the melodies found in the Scottish Ceilidh Collection, Fiddler’s Series or The Fiddle Music of the Scottish Highlands. When all else fails you might just want to recite some Robbie Burns poetry. I personally like the Irish Rovers, but realize the irony in playing their music. The music can really set the mood for a long night of feasting.
3. Have plenty of beverages on hand during any traditional Scottish feast, celebration or party. It goes without saying that having plenty of the correct beverages to share is a must. While some will choose a single malt Scotch, you may also want to select a Rob Roy, Mary Queen of Scots or Rye Whiskey.
However, it is not uncommon to enjoy a bold glass of wine that has been properly decanted or poured with a wine aerator. This provides the perfect glass of wine with a proper bouquet and aroma. Wine is being enjoyed more than ever on St. Andrew’s day, as Scotland has had a major increase in vineyards over the past two decades. With the climate being similar to British Columbia, the land is proving to produce amazing red wine and white wine.
Celebrating your country of origin’s national holiday should be full of family, friends and laughs. St. Andrew’s Day is no different and your expectation should be to have the greatest time possible. Traditional food, drink, song and dance can help bring people together while remembering times of yesteryear. Make sure you take advantage this November 30th and raise a glass of scotch, whiskey or aerated red wine in a toast to Scotland’s patron saint.

24 hour locksmiths are not all created equally. It’s important to take note of the types of locks you have and ask questions of the technicians about their experience level with those locks. If you drive a 4X4, van, or lorry, be sure to discuss that with the locksmith as well. Cars with keyless, remote start up systems may require different tools and specialisations, so be sure to find a locksmith that is experienced in those types of locks.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – A Few German Beer Glass Tips You Should Know
Germany is one of largest beer producer in Europe. Each type of beer produced in the country has special drinking vessels. In other words, a German beer glass has different shapes. The type a bar seller decides to serve you a drink depends on the beer type. In Germany, they can serve you beer in mugs made of glass. These are possibly some of the oldest styles of glasses available. They first came up in 1892 and they are very safe hygienically. Today, the available styles do not have a lid and they have class.
The older styles had these lids to keep away drink contaminators. The lids were made of strong metals like pewter. They had a strong handle and nice shapes too. A number of mugs are wide and slightly shorter while others are tall and slender. For that reason, not all these Germany glass mugs have equal capacity. A few of them can hold a little more beer than others can. You can find glasses that could hold from a half to one litre of beer and others that can hold zero-point- three to half a litre. In addition, most of these mugs are made of clear glass and others are not.
In place of beer glass mugs, today glasses that have a shape of usual wine glasses are common. This German beer glass has a pedestal and a short stem attaching to the glass body. Mainly, these glass styles are wide at the top to hold more beer and to facilitate carbonation. Remember that this glassware could vary with the type of Germany-made beer you want to drink. If you love a type of beer made in the country, you can now buy a glass designed specifically for serving it. Kolsch and Altbier glasses are very common in the country and in other regions. They are tall, upright and cylindrical in shape. Stein glass style tends to be more recognized than many others are and commonly useful in Oktoberfest.
It looks more like the Krug, an antique glass from Germany and Stein can hold more beer than most glasses could. If you want to see many beer glasses used in this region of Europe, the easiest method to use is the Internet. There is a big range of this glassware at the websites that deal with beer drinking vessels. Perhaps your friends or relatives love drinking Germany beer outside the pub. If you want to serve them drinks, simply buy a few sets of glasses that complement the beer of their choice. Then invite them to come over and have fun. If you buy a pack of glasses, most likely you would pay a fair price for them than if; you decide to buy one at a time. Look for best glasses at Amazon because you can read reviews as well. By reading, you give yourself a chance to quickly decide on which product to buy. Focus more on the quality of a given german beer glass before you could pay for it.

Beer boots or Bierstiefeln in German have over a century of history and culture behind them. It is commonly believed that a general promised his troops to drink beer from his boot if they were successful in battle. When the troops prevailed, the general had a glass maker fashion a boot from glass to fulfill his promise without tasting his own feet and to avoid spoiling the beer in his leather boot. Since then, soldiers have enjoyed toasting to their victories with a beer boot.

The mobile elbow results from using the mobile for long hours. Called the ‘cubital tunnel syndrome’, it is also called cell phone elbow’. The problem occurs when the ulnar nerve, which runs across the elbow, down to the ring and little fingers, gets over-stretched and blood supply is restricted, sparked by holding a phone to the ear for long periods.

It always gives you a sense of satisfaction when you have your kitchen fully organized with everything on its right place. You will feel comfortable working in the kitchen as you have access to all the items quite easily and you won’t have to find things here and there. Let us have a brief look on tips now.
• The first thing you need to do is to make best use of your kitchen cupboard space. For items which you use frequently, use cupboards between the knee and eye-level. You can place the items which are not frequently used above or below this line. Similarly, cleaning material can be store in the cupboard under the sink.
• Always store things close to where they are needed the most. For instance, storing the cleaning material under sink will always help you doing the cleaning task rather easily. Make one thing sure here that if you have small kids in home, it is important to have locks on these ground cupboards.
• To reduce the mess from the countertops or worktops, always try to keep as much items as you can inside the cupboards such as coffee jars, mugs, glasses etc. this will not only keep your worktops clear but also give a neat kitchen looks.
• The things which you think are rarely used can be put over the top of the cupboards to clear the mess such as boxes of birthday candles, cake containers of packing of different appliances.
• To make the best use of the space, you can install hooks and racks on the inside of the cupboard doors. These hooks and racks can be used to hang aprons, brushes, pans or any other unbreakable items. For fragile items, you can use shallow plastic or metal racks.
• In order to make best use of space, always go for multi purpose small appliances like food processor instead of a mixer and a blender.
• Revolving storage racks can be used for corner cupboards.
• In order to make some more space in the kitchen, it is good to move the freezer to a utility room or in a garage.
• If your kitchen is small, you can move some of the stuff into the living room cupboard such as wine glasses.
• It is also important to keep the cupboards in good condition if you want your storage place on a larger side. If the doors of your cupboards sustain any damage, you can buy new doors from the kitchen companies.
• You can also repaint your shabby cupboards and their door fronts on your own. If you want to make your kitchen larger, use white and pastel shades.
• Also keep the handles and locks in good shape. You can replace the broken handles without getting the help from any other person.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/ – Tips To Store Your Red Wine In Wine Storage Racks
Initially wine storage racks could be seen in wine cellars on estates of rich folks, however today they can be purchased by anyone who has a regular cellar for storing their wine. Nowadays you can find many different types, made of various materials that have their own advantages to use by the wine connoisseur.
Based on the material, you can find wooden wine racks, racks made of metal and iron, glass, bamboo and a few other materials. Each of these has its own benefits and before purchasing a new one for your own wine cellar, it is good to know the basics on each type.
The wood wine storage racks are the most popular types that have a long history in storing red and white wine in cellars. There are two main types, free standing and countertop. Also when it comes to the wood material, you can find them fir, bamboo, pine and cedar as main types. Wood racks are great for storing your wine for several years.
Iron racks or metal racks have become increasingly popular during the last few years simply because nowadays the technology allows for the metal to be modeled and shaped in various different interesting forms and designs. Especially wrought iron is preferred by many because the material is very heavy and durable and can hold a lot of wine bottles.
While glass is not as sturdy as wrought iron, glass racks have also become more and more loved by many homeowners. Glass can be beautifully etched and this allows for a beautiful decor of your wine cellar. While glass, indeed is quite breakable, it has the benefit of being able to store the wine in the perfect temperature and humidity conditions that are needed for having a good wine.
As you can see, there are many different types of wine storage racks that you can use for your own cellar. It all depends on your budget, style, preferences and the main way you will be using the rack in the first place.
To truly enjoy your red or white wine, make sure to drink them from crystal wine goblets for best taste.

Tips On Making The Best Digital Wedding Photography Even Better
Brides and grooms alike are now enlisting the expertise of professionals to get the best digital wedding photography for that special occasion. And why not? They would surely want to have the best photo taken so that the memories will be preserved as long as they live.
More and more people are now shifting to the use of digital cameras to take pictures of their wedding. One of the reasons for this is that the quality is better compared to the traditional camera. Another reason is that the photos can be stored not only in their hard-bound albums but also on albums online.
Today, people are more dependent on their computers than ever before. With computers, they can easily upload their wedding pictures and share them with family and friends all over the world. You do not have to rely on snail mails just to send your pictures. They are being sent and viewed the minute you have them in your computer.
This is one of the many advantages of digital photography. If taken properly, you are assured that you and you partner will never regret having used digital photography for your wedding pictures.
Below are some of the tips to get the best digital photography for your wedding.
1. Choose the right background.
Photos can really look great once they are shot with the perfect background. You can use the decorations in the church and in the reception areas as a back draft for your photos. Be sure to fix some scattered decorations so that they will appear simply perfect on photos.
Always remind the photographer to check if the view is good when taking pictures. It does not mean that you have to stand on the same corner or place. The best photographer is able to make even the simplest of background look great on photo if it is taken in the right angle.
2. Look out for any kinds of glass.
Glasses tend to cause reflections in photos. May it be an eyeglass, window or wine glasses. One way or another, they will cause a reflection or brightness to reflect back on the camera it is included in the picture.
To avoid this, the position of the camera can be altered so that it will not directly hit the glass. The photo can be taken sideways or downwards but never on eye level.
3. The perfect timing.
Persons being photographed should not always be looking at the camera. And they do not have to be smiling at the lens too.
One way of doing it is to wait for the right moment so that you can have a candid shot at them. You will see that catching persons on film when they are in their candid state is much better than having them wearing a fixed expression. Candid moments make photos look real and natural.
4. Review each photo.
To maximize the memory that your digital camera has, it is best to review every shot taken. There might be duplicates that can be removed so that you can free more space for a different shot.
You will probably want the best and the maximum number of digital wedding photography shots so you need to make the most of the capacity of the digital camera.
The best wedding photography is made even better now with digital cameras. This is one thing that you definitely should have on your special day.

1. You do not have to try all the wines. Some people go to wine tastings and only try the red wines, only the white wines, only the sparkling wines, etc. Do not feel embarrassed if you choose not to try the white wine or the dessert wine. Wine tastings are tailored to each individual wine taster. They will not care if you do not taste all the wines. If you are doing a wine tasting at a vineyard, they will want you to feel comfortable and only taste the wines that you feel comfortable tasting. Some people are also only interested in tasting certain varietals. Everybody has different tastes and different objectives in regards to wine tastings.
2. Do not ask for a second taste unless you are interested in purchasing a wine. It can be considered rude to ask for a refill unless you are actually interested in purchasing said wine. It is called a wine tasting for a reason. You only taste the wine. You do not drink glass by glass as you might at your home or in a restaurant. This is a common wine tasting newbie mistake.
3. You do not have to drink all the wine in your glass. You may spit out the wine in the designated spit bucket, or you may drink as much as you wish and then dump the rest in the bucket. Many experienced wine tasters choose to drink little or not drink any at all in order to keep their taste buds and nose free from any alcoholic effects.
4. A neutral food is often given to clear the palate after each tasting. Be sure to eat the crackers, chocolate, or whatever is given to you. You will be able to taste each wine more effectively, and differentiate the current wine from the previous one.
5. Most tasting rooms will require you to pay a fee. If you are a couple, you may be able to pay one free and drink out of the same glass. Be sure you ask your host or hostess if this is okay. Make sure you are not freeloading off of your partner. Also some wine tastings have different fees for different levels of wine. Some have a smaller fee for the main line of wines and a larger for reserve wines. Make sure you are clear on which line of wines you wish to try so that you do not overpay.

Tip 4: Consider lower alcoholic content.
Tip 5: Buy in larger quantities to save.
Tip 1: Remember the fragrance and taste.
In order to buy the right drink, you have to first get to know the personality of the beverage – that is, you need to experience for yourself the fragrance and taste. Wines can taste quite differently depending on the types of grapes being used, and the manufacturing process.
There is no such thing as an absolute superior wine. In other words, it’s all a matter of individual preferences. Cheap doesn’t mean bad, and expensive doesn’t mean good. If you buy an expensive bottle but the fragrance is so strong that it repels you, then perhaps you want to try something lighter.
Tip 2: Know the region that the wine comes from.
Usually, after trying out a few types of wine, you will get to know the bottles quite well. Different regions can produce quite different products due to the differences in climate. For the end product to be of high quality, the bottles need to be produced in a climate that is relatively dry. For instance, Toro reds are very popular as they are grown in a climate that consists of hot dry summers and cold dry winters. Once you are more familiar with the regions, you can narrow down your choices and focus only on those regions that produce alcoholic beverages that suit your personal tastes.
Tip 3: Buy bottles that have been kept for about 2 to 3 years.
The myth that “the longer the alcoholic drink is kept, the better it becomes” is only partially true. Not all wines become better when stored for a longer period of time. In fact, mainstream beverages are meant to mature quickly and drank within 2 to 3 years. So if you see bottles on the shelves that were dated 2 to 3 years back, they are ready for consumption.
Tip 4: Consider lower alcoholic content.
Usually, the better wines contain a larger volume of alcoholic content – as much as 13.5 to 14%. If that’s too strong for you, consider drinking white or rose wines.
Tip 5: Buy in larger quantities to save.
Do you throw parties often? Or you do enjoy a glass of wine after every meal? If that’s the case, you can certainly save a bundle by buying more and enjoying quantity discounts.
