Save with Plastic Wine Glasses
With plastic wine glasses, you not only get to save money because of their cheap prices, but you also get to save the time of washing, drying and storing if you prefer. But trust me, when you drop and break a few glasses every weekend, you’re going to be looking at plastic wine glasses pretty quickly! But who wants to spend a small fortune on wine glasses? Now, why would anyone want to spend more money on stem or stemless wine glasses then they have to? Worried about glass breakage, worried about what your plastic product is made from? Well, worry no more. Worried about your stemware budget? Then look into purchasing plastic wine glasses.
For events, it is recommend one to two champagne glasses for every adult guest in attendance. If you are one of those people who are concerned with reusing and recycling materials, plastic wine glasses are also good to wash and reuse them for the second, third, or even fourth time around. Most glasses are designed for commercial use and can withstand most industrial glass sanitation systems (1-2 minutes at 160F). Since domestic dishwashers are so widely varied, I can’t say that plastic wine glasses are 100% dishwasher safe. High quality plastic wine glasses are made from recyclable plastic. They are great for picnics, outdoor parties, and even indoor parties where you don’t want to use your precious crystal.
Plastic wine glasses are the best option if you’re not worried about appearances or “keeping up with the Joneses,” so to speak. On the other hand, titanium crystal wine glasses are not as tough (though tougher than regular wine glasses), but are of higher quality and just look better – though they are more expensive. Plastic glasses are recyclable and very safe to use. Easy to transport and pack, one can use these plastic glasses for picnics and outings too. Plastic wine glasses are a better choice over the paper ones. They papers ones can become wet and will lose their value quickly.

Although most of us that have even a passing interest in wine are concerned with the taste, body and beuacau of the wine itself, one cannot ignore the importance of the type of glass it is served in with regard to its effect on the whole wine tasting experience.
Professor Claus J Riedel was the first person to point this out recognising that the taste, balance and finish of a wine is influenced by the shape of the glass that you are drinking it out of. Claus was the first person to carry out extensive research into the field experimenting with a number of different ideas like which type of glass brings out the fruitiness in a wine, and looking at the effect of the shape of the wine glass in directing wine to different parts of the tongue.
Although different wine glasses will have different effects on the wine tasting experience there are certain elements of the design of different glasses that remain constant. All Glasses will have a stem so you will enable you to hold the glass without the warmth of your hand affecting the wine and you will also be able to avoid putting any smudges on the glass that will affect the look of the wine itself. The base and bowl are also essential for all glass designs.
If you are on the lookout for the type of wine glass that will perfectly compliment the wine you are using it will help to pay attention to the following tips.
If you are drinking red wine you should make sure that the bowl is wide enough for the wine to have enough contact with the air and for you to be able to dip your nose into the bowl to detect the aroma. The type of wine that you are serving will also affect the type of glass that you use. Good red wine will demand the use of a Bordeaux or burgundy glass. For Cabernets and merlots, the tallness of the Bordeaux glass will bring the wine to the back of the mouth which emphasises the flavour.
When it comes to white wine you will require a more u shaped glass where you can enjoy the smell of the wine without the coolness of the mixture being compromised. You could also choose different glasses for younger white wines and for more aged ones. The sweetness that you want to bring out with the younger white wine can be emphasised with a larger opening that will direct the wine to the sides of the mouth, whereas the bolder flavours of a more mature wine can be tasted by using a straighter and taller glass that will send the wine to the back and sides of the tongue.
Next time you are considering which wine to choose then, spare a thought for the glass you will be drinking out of.

The title looks confusing, though it was not meant to get that way at all. Think about it- cheap wine glasses which aren’t cheap whatsoever- what does that man anyway? You are going to be enlightened when you care to read on. A lot of people, when they drink wine, overlook the importance of the wine glass and buy the cheapest ones they can buy. They want the wine and for the most part, the glasses are mere vessels to hold they wine.
The higher end wine glasses are typically really pricy and a lot of people will not want to spend that much cash on wine glasses. If you want to buy cheap wine glasses then you should also know that you may get low quality ones if you pay too cheap a price for them. Those wine glasses may be too cheap for comfort. What you should get are cheap wine glasses that are still high quality. Such a wine glass does exist should you care to look carefully enough. If you do buy wine glasses which can be priced cheaply and yet are of excellent quality, it would be best to buy these cheap wine glasses from a trusted company.
They may lack the feel and looks of dearer wine glasses . The title can be quite misleading, but it really is really quite simple. The good one is a better wine for it doesn’t have alchohol. It appears like an oxymoron doesn’t it? You would think that the good wine would contain alcohol however it really just relies on your point of view.

How do you make fluted glasses out of polymer clay?
I’m working on making a themed dining set which includes a set of six fluted stem glasses. I’m not entirely sure how to do this though, and so far I’ve not been able to find a good tutorial on how to make any fluted glasses or glasses with stems (like wine glasses or goblets).
I’m going to be using a polymer clay to make these, and they’re going to be 1:12 scale. Unfortunately cannot buy them off a site because these are supposed to be made off of designs I was given to work with.
To answer a few questions:
By fluted I mean that the stem is a flat trumpet shape, like the base of a wineglass, and the top of the glass radiates out like a flower. I have an idea of how to make it at least translucent enough to see tinted resin or liquid clay inside of it though.
The color I’m going to be going for with them is a green similar the uranium glass that was produced in the 1920s except frosted.

What kind of glasses are these?
I have these heavy humongous glasses someone gave me as a wedding present. The bowls have the bulbous appearance of red wine glasses. That’s what I’m assuming they are but I’m not totally sure. They are really thick glass with an extremely chunky stem. I don’t really know why someone would want to drink out of something so heavy, but what do you think? Are they for red wine?
